A little about me…
Before getting dragged into the cannabis industry over 10 years ago, my career spanned over 30 years in information technology (coding PL/1 with paper punch cards at the BC Institute of Technology in the late seventies comes to mind). I’ve been embedded with software development teams at IBM and Deloitte, headed up proposal response teams at Accenture, developed courseware at Best Buy, and have been a serial entrepreneur for the last twenty years. I also believe that Web3 and what it enables are going to be huge drivers in our quest to expand industry value.
Since my first cannabis industry experience as the Chief Operating Officer of a licensed producer applicant in 2013, I have become fascinated with an emerging technology that has been in the purview of the pharmaceutical industry for decades: nano-processing. My business partner Anton and I created a startup based on nano-products and took it public on the TSX as we raised over $6m in private placement capital. We established a footprint in the California market through acquisition, and at the peak of the business, we were in over 100 dispensaries in Southern California.
Since then, I have been developing nano products for a Canadian company with operations in Jamaica. Plans are in the pipeline to sell into the EU, UK, Australia, and other emerging markets.
The one thing I hear loud and clear from clinicians, patients and other industry people is that ‘nano’ is the future, but no one seems to have yet cracked the code to make it so.
In this book, I will share with you my findings from over a decade of exploration in this amazing industry and how we now have an unprecedented opportunity to work together and create ‘Cannabis 3.0’—consciously and with focused intent.
